The First Week of Preschool

The first week of preschool is done and dusted!

We kicked off our school year with our Enrolment Party. The new preschoolers excitedly streamed into the MPR in their most lovely clothes and their beautifully decorated Schultüten, ready to embark on a new learning adventure.

The preschoolers quickly got settled into their new classroom and we spent quite some time getting to know each other better!

We made first day of preschool crowns!

We drew first day of preschool self-portraits and made paint handprints!

We made crafts, read books and built Lego together!

Very importantly, we sat down together to create our Classroom Essential Agreement. The preschoolers shared some mindful expectations and values that they would like us all to implement in our shared space. They all gave a 👍 to show that they agree!

When starting preschool, it's the first time that the students have a classroom upstairs. This means that it's very important for the new preschoolers to take a walk through the corridors to familiarise themselves with our neighbours. It was a good learning experience for all!

To close off a busy first week of school, the preschoolers shared their "All About Me bags" with their classmates. We learned so much about each other - some students shared their favourite sport, their favourite snack, their favourite sleep toy and we got to know a lot of the students' family members through their cherished photos!

Next week, we'll sink our teeth into the tuning in stage of our How We Organise Ourselves unit of inquiry!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
